MES/MOM No Marketing Noise: A New White Book on Real-Time Production Management

Edih Kyiv Hitech in partnership with Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UCA) Introduces a new White Book ‘MES/MOM: Real-Time Production Management’ – a practical guide for the heads of Ukrainian industrial enterprises, which seek to increase the controllability of production, data quality and speed of reaction to deviations.

As part of its mission, EDIH Kyiv Hitech helps Ukrainian companies to find practical ways of digital transformation and implement technologies that give a measurable result. That is why this white book focuses not on theory or marketing promises, but on specific production tasks that solve MES / MOM-systems.

Ukrainian companies are increasingly needing real-time production, accurate plan-fact control, downtime control, electronic production journals and reliable KPIs.

The White Book explains the place of MES / MOM in the digital architecture of the enterprise. If ERP is responsible for resource planning and business accounting, SCADA and AUTP are responsible for the technological process, and IIOT – for access to industrial data, then MES/MOM generates an operating circuit around the actual execution of the production order.

The document examines six groups of practical tasks:

  • execution of production orders;
  • dispatching and response to deviations;
  • collection of actual data and production KPIs;
  • quality and traceability;
  • staff support and digital instructions;
  • Materials and work in progress.

Particular attention is paid Ukrainian experience of implementation. The White Book presents the cases Yuri-Pharm, FED and Interpipe, which show different entry points to MES/MOM: from OEE control and single-line downtimes to complex operational schedule and end-to-end customer order management between production sites.

Common conclusion: a successful MES / MOM project does not start with abstract ‘digitalization’, but with a specific production problem, clearly defined data and a measured result.

For companies that only evaluate the feasibility of MES / MOM, we have also prepared practical tools: quick self-diagnosis of readiness, the first pilot’s roadmap and the minimum passport of the pilot project.

The White Paper was created by EDIH Kyiv HiTech in partnership with Ukrainian Cluster Alliance as a practical guideline for Ukrainian manufacturing companies planning the next step in digital transformation.
